48 hour Machinima

This week finds some of us totally exhausted following the 48 hour film project. If you’re unfamiliar with the event, it’s a global competition in which (as the name would suggest) you get 48 hours to make a film. The rules state that everything from writing the script to the final edit must be completed within that 48 hour window. The competition runs around the world throughout the year, with machinima being counted as it’s own city.

This year, we had the huge honour of having Toxic Menges join us. Hugely talented, Toxic has helped shaped the art form of Second Life Machinima and it was awe-inspiring to watch her work.  Check out some of Toxic’s work at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q-PIh3AWvn0

Our film can’t be shown until after the judging, but as soon as we can, we’ll let you see what we devised.

NEWSFLASH – The Independant Ballet company are bringing their beautiful performance Swan to our theatre this Saturday, 24th September at noon SLT.
